About us

The firm Carasco & Son Limited has spanned four generations since being established in 1923 by Louis Bachelier Carasco, who was succeeded by his son, Francis J. Carasco.  It started out as the firm of Louis B. Carasco, a dry goods and hardware business place in Castries, Laborie, and Soufriere.  The original head office and business place in Castries, a three-story property, was located on High Street, between Manoel and Mongiraud Streets.  The company to this day, still operates out of its original Soufriere Branch and has its head office on the corner of Manoel and Brazil Streets in Castries. The firm underwent a name change on April 2nd, 1931 when Francis Joseph Carasco became 21 and was made partner, thus becoming the firm of Carasco & Son.

 

The company is currently owned by Francis Carasco’s daughter, Charmaine Gardner. She chairs the company’s Board of Directors. Her two daughters, Charon and Kim, who are otherwise employed, are shareholders and Directors. Mrs. Gardner’s son, Ross Gardner, also a shareholder, serves as the Company’s Managing Director.

 

The legacy of Carasco & Son Limited is that the company and its shareholders past and present, all have a proud and distinguished history of serving Saint Lucia as well as the island community in which the company operates.  They continue to give back to the community, through the support of, and service to, private sector organizations, as well as to many and varied youth, educational, religious, elderly and indigent, creative arts, sporting initiatives, and charities.
